Mitigation Defined

Water damage mitigation minimizes or prevents the harmful effects of water damage to structures, materials, or contents.

It involves taking prompt action to control and reduce the extent of damage caused by water intrusion from plumbing leaks, sewage backups, floods, or other water-related incidents. This can includes water extraction, state of the art drying, and dehumidification to prevent further issues like mold growth or structural damage.

Mitigation Process

Inspection - Our First Responders possess the experience and certifications to assess the damage caused my water and fire emergencies faster than anyone else. By using state of the art moisture mapping and photos, they will create documentation that will make dealing with your insurance company easier than ever as well as dispatching the appropriate crews to mitigate the damage and prevent it from getting worse.

Extraction & Materials Removal - Removing bulk water from your flooring is usually step number one in our mitigation process. Once this is completed, any materials that are already damaged will be carefully removed behind containment barriers, with air filtration in place.

Cleaning & Drying - Depending on the source of the water damage, sometimes additional pressure cleaning and antimicrobial measures must be taken. In most cases drying will begin within the first day using state of the art dehumidification, air filtration and air movers as a calculated volume for faster results. This is the best way to prevent secondary damages to residential and commercial buildings.

Monitoring and Invoicing - Regularly monitoring the progress of the drying equipment is critical to determining if your property is ready to be reconstructed safely, without future mold or microbial growth. Once we have documented that an area is dry, the equipment will be picked up as soon as possible to minimize cost. At this point the Estimating and Final Invoicing can occur, as we will skillfully communicate directly with your insurance carrier or responsible party.

Reconstruction - The reconstruction referral process typically begins at the initial inspection! As we create a scope for the project, we will be able to help you connect with the appropriate contractors who serve your needs best. From small drywall and flooring to entire structural systems & roofing, we have dozens of contractors ready to work along side us to get your home or business back to normal again!
